Original Christian Music by Mark King

These original Christian psalms grew out of studying the Holy Bible and from my prayers.

Enjoy!

Respect, Love, Forgiveness, Praise, Prayers, Thanks

A modern composition can be called a psalm if it follows the spirit and style of traditional psalms—sacred, poetic expressions of worship, praise, lament, or spiritual reflection, often directed toward God.

While the biblical Book of Psalms contains 150 specific texts, the term "psalm" (from Greek psalmos, meaning "song" or "hymn") is broader and can apply to contemporary works that share similar themes and purposes, like devotional songs or poems. For example, modern composers might create a piece labeled a "psalm" if it’s crafted for worship and mirrors the emotional or spiritual depth of biblical psalms. It’s more about capturing that sacred, lyrical essence than adhering to a strict format.
